About Us

Kaiolani Hula Studio/Hula Halau Na Hua ‘o Maile

E Komo Mai! Welcome to our website!

We are a local traditional Hawaiian dance group ready to share our Aloha with you. Whether you are looking for classes or for entertainment for your special event, our hula ohana is here for you.

We have performed locally for many community events such as the Poppy Festival, Antelope Valley Fair, Flea Market, Relay for Life, Boy Scouts, and at many facilities for the elderly.

We are available for hire to entertain at your next luau, birthday party, anniversary, graduation, wedding, convention, or that special event you are planning. If you are looking for Hawaiian entertainment you have come to the right place.

Kaiolani Hula Studio of the Antelope Valley, based in promoting traditional hula, seeks to provide adults, as well as children in the community, an enriched educational experience through the study and performance of Hawaiian Dance.

Ancient Hawaiians had no written language. Instead, all communication beyond the spoken word took place in the form of chants and the dance called hula. Hula and its accompanying chants recorded Hawaiian genealogy, mythology, and prayers of the heart and mind. The hula was the means by which the culture, history, stories and almost every aspect of Hawaiian life was expressed and passed down through generations.

We seek to continue in the teaching of Hawaiian culture through Hula Kahiko, Hula Auana, and chanting.

Halau Mission Statement

To provide a place where anyone who has the desire can learn hula. To be fair and treat everyone with respect. To share the aloha that comes from within. To have fun! To provide an environment where trying is expected and questions are encouraged. To uphold the motto of the state of Hawaii. ‘Ua mau ka ea o Ka’aina ika Pono. The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.

Halau Motto

Nana ka maka; Observe with the eyes;
ho`olohe ka pepeiao; listen with the ears;
pa`a ka waha. shut the mouth.

Thus one learns.

Remember what you have been taught and share the dance with aloha!
